Hike to Falls on Pipeline Road

Today we went on a beautiful hike to a waterfall up in the mountains on Pipeline Road. It was about 2 hours up and one hour down, taking time of course to smell the roses. This little humming bird entertained us for about 5 minutes diving and swooping above the water. It looked like he was catching insects and maybe even drinking from the river. I have never known a hummingbird to eat anything but nectar but maybe he was a special variety, who knows. He was very colorful and there were no flowers in sight.....strange...This is the river at the beginning of the hike.
Our friends Donna and Ron James from Calgary who area staying at the house right now. Donna and Ron have bought a lot here and plan to build in the next few years when Ron retires.
Some jungle vines enroute, I expected Tarzan to swoosh onto the scene at any second.
Just before the falls. The trail had more or less disappeared and it was quite difficult to make the last few hundred yards.
At last we reached our goal!!!

Beautiful! We hiked around the fields here and picked oranges and lemons without getting caught by the Border Patrol that came past us! It is starting to warm up from the cold front the US has been experiencing, but we are enjoying the blue sunny skies and palm trees. Happy New Year to you and Butch!
