I have a papaya tree here but I don't like the variety of papaya that it produces. They are large, rather tasteless and take forever to ripen and usually have bad spots by the time that happens. There is a smaller version called a Hawaiiana that is small and sweet. This year I bought one of those and have started 8 babies from the seeds. The biggest ones are ready to put out which I will do probably this week so that I can babysit them for a couple of weeks before I go. With 8 trees I should have papaya at all times (I hope).
