Our friends from Chestermere Holly and Jim Loewen came to visit us in early Jan. One of the things on their bucket list was to go golfing. To that end I took them out to beautiful Valle Escondito up in Boquete to hit a few balls out there. The cost was $35 per person for 18 holes even though it is only a 9 hole course. They didn't even finish the last 2 holes because it was taking so long to recover the lost balls. It was only a par 3 course but proved to be very good at eating balls. The fairways were very narrow and fraught with ball eating traps, sand, water, brush you name it, it was difficult to avoid. As Holly started off you can see that the gods were shining on her.

This hole would have challenged even the best golfer. There was a fairly stiff breeze and the green was on the other side of the ravine, shrubbery on the top side, cars on the bottom. After loosing 2 balls to the roughage, Jim ported his ball by hand (via the walkway over his head) and Holly chose to keep her balls and pass. It was beautiful but kinda crazy. They are about as competitive as me so no worries we had a good time in spite of it all.
