Getting any wood working done here is always a problem as the carpenters don't have enough money to buy wood so they hit you up for an advance. They then rush out and purchase the wood and proceed to use it on everyone else's projects. It's a real tick off. This year though I decided to use teak for the rest of the house and found a local source of farmed teak. Between Carmelo and ourselves we bought $8000 worth. We stored it in Carmelo's garage. This is the result.
The truck load of wood arrives and the men toss it off onto the ground.
They make a bridge over the ditch to carry it to the garage.
I then hire locals to move it into the garage under the supervision of the carpenters.
Even Jeffry and Hormelius helped with the smaller pieces.
We had to create a barrier on the garage door to discourage entrance of snakes, rodents, etc which might decide that this was a good place to live so what did they use? a 2x6 piece of teak that would have cost probably $200 or more at home. Spencer, you will be shocked!
This is the result, piles and piles of wood. each pile is 5 feet high and the garage is about 28 feet across the back. They stacked it in every corner.
Eat your heart out Spencer at this beautiful wood. So far they have made only my furniture for the fish statue but they will do the whole office before I leave this year. SOLID TEAK yeah!!
