I have a bit of a story to tell here.
The day we went to Boca Chica we got stuck behind a long line of traffic. We could tell that there was something holding everybody up but it was a long ways away. As others slowly passed it we could see that it was a tanker truck. Finally we got next in line to pass but were alarmed that there was some kind of liquid splashing out of it. Also the trailer was dog legging behind the tractor. The whole thing seemed a bit unstable and we were very happy when an opportunity to overtake it finally came up.
And so we flew past only to also fly past our turn off about a mile up the road. We made a u-turn as quickly as was safely possible and headed back to the turn. As we approached the turn we could see the truck heading off up a long grade in the direction that we needed to go. We decided to hang back as the trailer was so askew that it looked like it could uncouple. Mercifully we didn't need to go too far to the town of Horconcito. There were big speed bumps in the town and copious amounts of liquid were splashing out so we stopped to see what it was. It appeared to be water. By the time we got into the town we saw the truck had parked in front of what was a big cement pad with a roof over it surrounded by a chain link fence. Inside they were setting up huge speakers.
We breathed a sigh of relief as we passed it and went on our way. On the return trip though we finally discovered what it was all about. This time the building was packed with people dancing, music was blasting and they were shooting water from a big hose on the crowd of people. Everyone was soaked and just having a blast. It was tempting to join them on such a hot day. Wayne jumped out of the truck and shot a few pictures. They aren't that great but you get the idea. Like my grandmother Gertrude used to say "Now I've seen everything!!"
