For as long as I have been here there have been a family of toucans living in the tree in the park. They are not the true toucan that we readily recognize but rather are fiery billed aricaris a member of the toucan family. This year for the first time they seem to have spread to other areas of the development and today we had the honor of them showing up in the tree across the road from our balcony. There were 4 in total and we watched them for about 1/2 an hour. Finally it got too dark and we left them to roost for the night. It had just finished dumping a big downpour and they were all wet so they were very interested in grooming. This guy is preening a wing.
This guy was my favorite sitting here with his wet spikey hair looking all pissed off.
This is an odd face on pose, not what you typically expect when you see a toucan.
