Sunday we went for a hike up Pipeline Road. So named because there is a pipeline that follows the creek and brings fresh mountain water down to the bottom of the hill. The top of the stream ends in a waterfall which is the gold at the end of the tunnel. Below Indiana Jones and his sidekick Ron are bird watching I guess.
The waterfall is high but not a huge volume of water comes down it.
Donna and I found a leaf big enough to create a change room for two.
The piece de resistance though were the howler monkeys that we caught feeding. When they had finished feeding and were moving back to their roosting tree. Ron gave a big whistle which set them off and they started to bark and howl. It was a terrifying noise coming from such a small animal. If we had not know that was making it I would have thought that a bear and cougar combined were coming after us....yesh!
Click this video for the sound they make just make sure your volume is turned up.
Donna wanted a picture of this spot because she thought it was so beautiful.
