Life at Apartamentos Atenas was fun because there is so much camaraderie. Vigorous exercise, such as a long walk, is done early in the morning when it is cool. Sometimes this walk is into town to go shopping, stop for coffee or have lunch. Taxi rides back are prefered because by then it is hot, you are carrying groceries and also it is uphill. After lunch there is a lot of R&R, usually around the pool
...that is after all the food prep for dinner has been done.
Then at 5:00 empunto there is happy hour. All the gang, if they are available, gets together at the rancho, a common cooking area, and they discuss the days events and make plans for future side trips. Someone brings an hors d'oeuvre and always there is wine or a beer.
Dinner is at 6:00 and is potluck at times or everyone does their own thing. I felt very welcomed into the fold and would love to go back with my husband. Bedtime comes early.
