For the first time since my arrival in Central America I saw a real live Fruit Loops Toucan in the wild. They were fairly common in the Atenas area and it was great to finally see one, particularily one that flew in so close and posed for me. They are easy to spot as they sound like a frog croaking and as soon as I heard him I jumped up for my camera and there he was in a tree just above the sidewalk about 100 feet from the pool.
This guy has a proper bill but less color so looks to be much younger.
