So this will be, I hope, my final update on the roofing tile crisis. Ivan had, as I suspected made a deal with David to try to resell the tiles. Probably he wanted a refund and David wouldn't give him one but did agree to try to find a taker for them. Ivan was going to take them to his farm when he stole them but it was too muddy and wet to move them there so they went to David's warehouse.
When David Carballeda found out that the tiles were technically stolen and that there was going to be an investigation and that his men and trucks could come under scrutiny he, of course, wanted no part of it. He said that he couldn't hold them there if Ivan came for them but he suggested that he would like to return the tiles from whence they had come to get them off of his property. So hopefully in the next day or two the tiles will be returned to Carmelo's house, never to be moved again until such time as they are up on his roof. This time we will have a watchman 24/7 in case the slime bag tries it again. Once David has returned the tiles he will call Ivan and give him the bad news that his plot to seek revenge has failed. Ah, sweet victory....
