Morning and late afternoon seem to be the bath time of choice. Today we were a bit late watching but we did see these little guys come and have a cleanup. There were 3 different types and I could not find them in my bird book but they all appear to be some kind of vireo.
The approach goes something like this. First you flutter around in the bushes behind and case the facility by landing on the little steel fence for a closeup look at the swimming hole.
When you get really brave you can hop onto the angel for a better look like this little yellow guy.
If the coast is clear you get onto the middle row of rocks
And when you are really sure that all is tranquil then hop in either side and have a splash. The right is a bit deeper than the left so it is a matter of choice.
