I try to put out some sort of fruit every day for the birds, either on the post or on the rim of the birdbath. By the end of the day it is invariably gone. It seems that some of the different species aren't really high on sharing the space. Today a Clay Colored Robin landed and started to eat the banana. Then a female Red Rumped Tanager showed up and challenged him. A small scuffle ensued with a lot of posturing until eventually the robin backed off. The tanager followed him to the edge of the cement to make sure he was gone for good. They are so much fun to watch.
