The Roof is Going On - Finally!

The roof is finally getting put on now, the building is getting a bit of shape.
Don't get excited though, we still don't have power. As ever our ingenious Panamanians have come up with a way to get power, this is a good one. They tied into the neighbors power meter and ran a line about 500 meters over to our house. The line runs across the roads and if you drive up that way you will be forced to run over the wires laying on the gravel. Not exactly to code, but hey, it's working. They have been working this way for 3 days now.

As regards the power, here are this weeks reasons why we don't have it, (as I understand it):
1. The power company (Union Fenosa) lost the plans and needed new ones. Sort of like the dog ate your homework I guess.
2. The developer needs to produce some document regarding insurance. They have done that but they need a new one drawn up to reflect the changes regarding the additional transformers, etc.
3. Union Fenosa needs to inventory the equipment on the site so they need the number of lights, poles etc, plus the serial numbers off of the lights to verify exactly which lights they are. This necessitated a man climbing each pole to get that information.
4. Today they need more information on the application. This is mystery information - I have no idea what it could be.

Maybe they will be out on Monday, ya think? Meanwhile progress is being made, our roofing crew is busy!

Well with the roof on - you can say let the rains come and test it out!!(heehee). I do hope they find a way soon to give your house power - great imagination on finding the current way to create power so your build can continue. Take care LJ
