Flooding in the Mountains

The river normally flowed past the hotel on this side but look at the other side....

There was a road way here, in fact notice the car on it's side with tail lights still on. Notice also the tops of the balconies on the bottom layer just visible over the water and compare them to those on the 2nd floor!!

Aren't I glad we didn't buy this piece of riverfront.

So now you see why they felt it necessary to cancel the spay clinic in Boquete. The good news it that Sophie has borne her last litter. She was in heat when I took her in, poor thing. The flooding in the mountains has been severe. It will be a long time before the country has recovered from the damages of washed out roads, bridges and infrastructure. The only road into Bocas where we go sailing has many washouts and 90 mudslides. The aqua ducts have been damaged so they have no food, power or water. Even the airport is closed. There are 4 known dead and 8 missing. Fortunately it is business as usual where I am.
