Ceilings

Now that our roof is on you can see the pattern of the welded steel rafters with the insulation on top. They don't use wood here because of termites. The insulation looks like bubble pack and has a silver reflective coating on the other side. Normally they would put chicken wire first to keep it from sagging but the rafters on our house are close together because of the weight of the clay tiles that are going on top.
We finally got a quote from a drywaller and he is to start next week doing the ceilings. We went over to look at his work and this is what it will look like, it is very complicated. They need to do a steel grid to attach the drywall too. This grid is hung from the rafters. If you look closely, this grid is stepped in 3 stages going up 6 inches at each stage. The final stage in our house will have indirect lights in it.
Just a single stage in a bedroom.
Here is a two stage ceiling outside. Ours will look something like this. It will take about a month to complete. I am excited to get the ceilings done because that is holding up the tiling on the floors. This was a big house in David which made ours look like a little bungalow. There was a big pool in the back yard.
