This is the first bird of the toucan family that we have seen. A friend of ours spotted him in the park in the development. He was way high up in the tree so the shot was taken from quite a distance. We had binoculars so we got a good look at him but the camera shot is not the best taken at 18x optical zoom. He was in the same tree that the Laughing Falcon was in. There were 4 of these birds in total and again they are fairly uncommon. They lay eggs from Jan-April so I am hoping that they are nesting in the area. We thought at first that perhaps he was a juvenile because he was looking a bit disheveled but it turns out that he is an adult. Way cool.....
