La Estancia is a B&B in the American section of Panama City. It is primo real estate of course and is now no longer exclusively an American enclave. It is located part way up a hill but you can continue further up the hill all the way to the top on a narrow paved road. It had rained here off and on since we arrived 3 days ago so when the fog lifted this morning we hiked up the trail.
The views were spectacular through the trees as we went up.Here we are up at the top.
The interesting thing was the vultures. They were sitting in the trees with their wings spread to dry. On the way down we spotted this guy below and could see that he was in very sad shape. I thought he must be old and ready to die. On the contrary as we approached I could see he was just a chick and didn't have enough feathers fly when wet. Here he sat waiting to dry out and totally unable to fly. He did have enough smarts to spread his wings to dry. Isn't he just the saddest little creature you ever saw. Double click him and look at his tail feathers then compare them to he adults above...poor baby.
