Almost Ready for Backfill

This is the front portico and the guest bedroom.
Here you are looking at the kitchen/eating area off of the living room (I am standing in the living room) with the laundry room to the left of the eating area. Note the wood form in the front which is there to pour the concrete that fills in the spaces where the columns or support pillars are.
This is the foyer with the living room and kitchen behind it. The kitchen is on the left side. Back of that area is the patio.

As you can see many of the column and support areas have the concrete poured so that the walls are continuous. At this point they are ready for back fill. They will backfill it with sand, one wheelbarrow at a time, 12 truck loads Abigale estimates. They will start that next week, even before all of the column supports are poured. Some men will be doing that and some will be finishing off the concrete. Once the areas are filled with sand, then the plumbing and electrical will be laid in.

There was a lot of action out there today between men clearing the lots and doing the ditches and my construction crew. Rather like a small town. It will be nice when I am not the only house on the block. Tomorrow I am going to post way cool pictures of how they pick pifas. Stay tuned....
